Some updated pictures of my DeCoster
« on: April 25, 2007, 11:54 AM »
I thought I would post some updates to my DeCoster.  Initially I really wanted Ashtabula forks, but after putting it all together I didn't think that they went with the other parts, so I have changed them to a set of Mongoose pinch forks, I am very happy with the overall look now as it looks like a pure racer.  Thanks to Christian (Hunterdubber) for selling them to me and sending them so quick, cheers dude.

Wow! I ain't seen one of those 'ol Goose stems since I was 11!! Had three on my Goose Motomag BITD......kept breaking 'em. Those were the days when all you needed to do was to snap a part for Mongoose to replace it FoC. Don't think anyone provides that kind of service now. Good work on your vintage masterpiece.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I really do love this bike, maybe because of all the work that went into finding the parts.

I am pretty sure this will be my entry in the Show and Shine at Milton Keynes this Summer.  Although I do have a particularly special build to be revealed in the next month or so  ;)

Its gonna be a tough competition this year, there has been some amazing builds so far this year, with more being shown daily.  Good job lads and lasses.

I do not envy the judges jobs this year, although I would imagine it is a nice job also just staring at all the gorgeous bikes.

It was great before, now it's perfect.  I actually prefer that fork than a DeCoster because it's more what a 13-14 year old kid would have done back in the day

fantastic build! Love the colours & attention to detail. Radial lacing etc, etc.

Campagnolo hubs?

Chapeau!

The hubs are Sunshine track hubs which are very unusual.
