Here you go.

The code number is 9501009000 (this is the tariff code for bicycle wheels and parts) it should be clearly stated on the address cover letter on the package.

This should legitimately reduce the import duty to a zero % rate, but they may still charge vat and parcel force will can add a £13 admin fee too.

Good luck

Paul.

How do you guys put up with that crap,if one of you sends me somethin I just get the item not a bill of lading saying you owe us XXX amount of money before we give you your stuff. :2gunsfiring_v1:

Sounds like extortion to me,I just can't believe how badly you guys get nailed on stupid taxes. :uglystupid2:

rarman,

There are limits on the value of what can be bought into the UK from outside the EU. The problem with gift is that often you then can't get insurance which is a little unnerving for both the seller and the buyer especially on the higher value goods.

That said if it is marked as a gift and the value and postage are also clear to be seen on the package, chances are the VAT manwill charge anyway.

Roonga, the code needs to be clearly written near the address on the package.

Paul

Does this work if you are bringing stuff back from your holidays, as i'm off to the states in May and might bring something back.
Last year my mum bought me back my GT race bike and was stung for $100 dollars excess baggage, the best part was they then lost my bike and her luggage for a very worrying 24 hours???? :10_2_12:
