Faded Kashimax Lettering
« on: January 16, 2007, 06:01 PM »
I'm restoring the Kashi Aero from my Aero Pro and the gold "RALEIGH" side logos have faded ... has anyone managed to rectify this

Maybe gold rub-on decals would look the part or is the gold pen trick the only cure  :-\

Cheers

I have the same problem, the stick on letters don't really look that good, so then I nearly bought a hot foil pen off egay but don't really have a steady enough hand to do it with.  :-\

Would be interested to know how you get on with it  :daumenhoch:

ive got a great idea for this , you can get this stuff called embossing powder and an ink pad that comes with , its normally use for craft like card making ect but works on plastic glass wood ect you normally put the stamp into the ink pad thing then put some gold embossing powder on it , it sticks to the ink stuff then you get a heat gun and heat it and it turns into gold hard stuff so i reckon if you get a stencil if the lettering and a stippling brush and stipple the ink throught the stencil, then pour the powder on use the heat gun your in business gonna give it a go myself when i can work out how to make a stencil
