that could be tricky as some companys sold 1" and 1 1/8" at the same time factory options
you could order what you wanted .they where late 90s but some where on the wagon earlier.

1993
standard had a prototype STA (Jeremy verhulst rode it) n november with aheadset.
GT also released the Fueler around then with aheadset.
These were the first 2 1 1/8 bikes out, it all then caught on going into 94, mostly on race fra,es
For freestyle the first production 1 1/8 gyros were i think in late 95, as all those crap superforks like the menstrual cycle / superfork/khe things were around early 95, mostly because people hadn't heard of files (to do the plate) and ice cream tubs (to make a dirt skirt).  then most frames went ahead from then on.

Spot on Chris Standard are recognised to be the first to use 1 1/8th in 93, also first to use clamp on stems around the same time.

The us pioneered the 1" super forks, but european companies like dragonfly continued to use 1" threaded superforks due to not having to pay a lisence fee to Aheadset.
Ths is also why sometimes in modern day bikes you see forks with large threaded nuts on the top of 1.1/8" forks (to avoid paying a lisence fee to aheadset)
