Well the box cranks were about at xmas 82 as I remember going over to Surrey Skates and choosing between them and a set of flites with my tax rebate, ended up with the flites at £175  :crazy2:

Not sure when the changed to the newer ones that we`re all using now though  :(
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Yep, Surrey Skateboards did a hell of a lot of BMX stuff BITD from the shop in Chertsey Road, Woking. Spent a small fortune there myself, got my first Comp 3's there and it was one of the few places you could get Vans from as they imported them directly and not through Shiners.  They are no more unfortunately as the owner retired and the son carried it on for a while selling skate stuff but then he had enough and moved to Bude.  One of my mate's knew the guy really well and he told me they still have loads of old school stuff but that was before I got back into it  :tickedoff:.  Sometime's you'll see the odd Ripper or other old school gem appear on the bay from a seller called budesurf or something like that - that's them  :daumenhoch:

Surrey Skates is where I gallopped to to buy my Gen 1.  Happy days.....

I believe the unstamped cranks were around until 95   :)
