Gusset 22mm euro BB arrived. As did the Proper sprocket. I should now be able to sort two bikes and finish them properly.

Very productive day.
The flooring for the loft came. F me it was heavy. Managed to drag that up there ready for installing.
Changed the sprocket on the Barcode to the green one I bought, then fitted the red Primos with the Ti axle to the Fatboy with the 36t Profile Imperial. No pics, as I was just too busy. The Fatboy still needs a chain, then I can crack on with the building work.

Getting pissed at my own stupidity/frustrating ways to show sizes/pissing my mate around making useless parts.
So I needed one of these for my brake. And I ain't fookin paying that for 2p worth of metal ffs.
This was the pic sent. I IDed the height properly but this confused me enough into thinking it was 40mm wide. Hint, it isn't it's 45.
So I sent erroneous measurements to my mate who then modelled it (came up wrong size, seems it was a common theme)
From my SVG. Sadly before I realised my error it was too late and the poor sod had already made two.
Feck
He's not happy bless him. Just hope he makes me one wide enough now
The back piece I can machine myself using my machine.
Do note I didn't send him holes to machine. I want to upgrade the plate and make it better. IE, instead of having a square pole piece on the plastic to sit in a cutout on the plate and one screw I am going to, you know? just use two screws in the first place. Can easily machine that, and the cable relief strip down the underside middle.

OK so blunder averted somewhat. My mate is going to make me another. Phew.
Another engineer pal of mine pointed out that the block is not acrylic. And that acrylic would most likely shatter
So after IDing what is was (Delrin nylon) I bought the correct shit eh.
Must say it totally looks like a match to be fair.

OK so after spending my birthday gaming with my mates yesterday (I was 50 FFS) I decided to have a look at it.
Aaaaaand, it was broken ffs.
The arms were floppy, and should be under tension and sprung. So OK maybe he did that to stop it ruining the springs etc. Tension it up and it bound up both sides. Like, totally.
Here we go.
Now thankfully I have a lot of experience, and soon identified that the locking cones (the bits similar to the top of a 990) were a tiny bit worn inside (like literally a mil or two) and needed to stop before they lock the arms up.
So here is how it goes.
Take one arm off at a time.
Grease the bottom of the plate. Add teflon washer, grease top of teflon washer. Add second teflon washer, grease top of it. Add arm. Add grease, teflon washer. Grease the top of that one and add the last teflon washer (two under two over). Grease top of that, add spring. Grease the top end of the post, add metal washer. Grease that washer, add second washer. Then add cone, put thread lock on the bolt and tension it all up just like any other U brake.
And you will eventually end up with a pitbull that does what it is supposed to do.
Winning.

Two at the correct size of 45mm, and the ISIS adapter shoulders and inserts for the ti BB.

Two for two. Amazing.
Setting the plugs.
Shoulders and ti bolts.
And my Pitbull now has jaws.
Will fire the CNC up later and machine the teflon block.

Thanks man.
Well it turned out the acetal nylon sheet is not cast but extruded. That means.....
melty melty
The first 1.4mm bit snapped and then that happened with a 3mm bit. It isn't removing it, just melting it, so I need to cut it manually.
I will dig out my hacksaw in a bit and crack on with that.

Mang this stuff is an absolute shit head to work with. It melts when you get it even remotely warm, and it's so sodding slippery its a shit bag to cut manually
I do now have a block, but this has all thrown up an issue I never knew I had. Why in the fudge does the spindle motor on my machine refuse to run any slower? Just did some investigating and it seems no matter what I set the speed to it's not having it. It's either all on (20,000 RPM ffs) or off.

Back to the loft. Floor construction now finished, but I could murder my cousin. Entire sub floor was pissed, so that turned into a real pain.
I then grew tired of losing 3mm drill bits down the gaps, so when the back floor (against the wall) was finished I taped off all the gaps.
Next up, lino planks (self adhesive ones). Should be much easier than that building shit, that's for sure !

Main floor is all but done. Two pieces left to fit, but I tapped out having to continually move crap around.
As you can see, it's a lot.

Figuring what I need to make the new bike look good. I think it is time for the orange to go. So new grips needed, new head spacers, new head doctor top cap. Bearings should all be good. Cane Creek headset on it, so all good there.
Need a new seat post (it's massive on the new one, 31.6!) and clamp. Will replace the crank bolts with red ones too... Oh and brake cables etc.
I also need to find the best one of these things.
As the frame has single place drops. Not a huge issue, been watching videos on setting them up. I also took the Ti BB apart as much as I dared and gave it a ruddy good clean.
Looking forward to this build. Always nice to work on the biggun.

After 7 years and many very happy miles the last part of the PK is going. Good thing I kept all the others really
Very limited tools here. I pulled the seat and brake cables off.
Bars are off now too, but the stem bolts won't budge with the stupid driver I have. Need to go get more tools. Was relieved that the best part of the Jagwire cables comes off (the stainless flexi noodles that go into the levers)
All orange parts are going to be replaced with red and black.
Enter Mondays Child, all 3.11lb of pure titanium PORN.
I figured I would try and thread in the Ti BB, and then realised I had been ripped off.
Me about a year ago "Hi. Are you sure this is British threaded? I see they make them in British (euro) and Italian?"
Seller - "No mate definitely euro, I had it on my bike".
Fockin liar. When I verniered the threads they are well over 36mm, not 34 or so. Thankfully I found a thread where a guy detailed rebuilding an ISIS BB and got the bearing sizes from a normal Euro one.
Noting the 31mm part. I also checked ISIS bearings online. Also 31mm.
The ones on the left. I then removed the longer side of the BB (not easy, needing a bit of twatting that) and,
Bearings are 31mm. Thank god. That means I can grab one of the many at my mum's and nick the end shells with the threads on. Phew.

Well the tyres are half done. Will finish those tomorrow. I also had to file a nut for the pitbull 2 so it can be inverted. Hard to explain, but it will make setting it up far less of a twat.
Should be able to get the Standard finished. Wow. 8 years now......
