Donor Pedals
« on: December 16, 2019, 02:15 PM »
So I’ve had to take a chance and buy some cheap old SR SP-250 road pedals from eBay to hopefully use as donors for the end caps. I may get lucky and be able to use the bearings and reflectors too. I’ll let you know if the caps fit because for under a score it’ll be a result. I’ve only had an offer of one orphan cap from my wanted/needed topic (thanks Peter) for SR Custom M caps. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 wish me luck, or if you know they will or won’t work please let me know.

I hope you can get the caps off as sometimes they are a twat without damaging them especially the DX’s.
Interested if the spindles are the same..

:LolLolLolLol: I’ve seen worse but they’re for a rider so as long as they come out ok and fit it’s all good.

There is a bloke down under that does a lot of end caps and so on.
Cant exactly remember all the caps he does, but he does a fair few.
I will find out more when I catch up with a mate who knows him on Friday.

Quick update...
The caps fit
The seals fit
The bearings fit
The adjusting cone fits
The keyed washer fits
The 12mm lock nut fits
The reflectors fit but are smaller than the RR 0217 used as stock
The spindles are too short but might work on the 468’s. If I get around to repacking mine I’ll let you know.
My £15 gamble paid off and I’m chuffed my pedals are now spinning as smooth as you like with caps and some spares to store too. Result !
