Help fitting an Haro disc to opc
« on: May 07, 2019, 05:06 PM »
Hi,
Could I have a bit of help please, so I took my Haro sport to the local bike shop for a service and parts fitted, the only issue they had was fitting my Haro uni disc on a Sugino opc, they said I would need a non threaded 24mm internal size washer to sit in between the right hand side bearing locking nut and the disc- I’ve not heard of this before is that correct- pic included showing bb locking nut and gap to disc.

Any help and pee taking welcome or washers

In the first pic is that the furthest it goes fully tightened ?
The locking nut looks deep enough to clear that gap.
Try it without this spacer they advised, it might mark the disc slightly when tightening, but you normally expect that anyway.
Is it this type of bottom bracket ?
It should really fit..

Hi,

It’s a Tange sealed BB,the nut  clears the Gap but shop said when they fitted it they had Still had a gap, I can only assume once the bearing sat inside the cap and the nut was tightened they had a gap in the between the nut and disc, I might make an cap press and have ago myself.

It is really easy to fit.
I would tighten the lock nut up to the Haro disc as tight as you can get it then see if any movement in the disc.
Assemble it from there.
The bike shop is probably covering there back to save if any issues.
