Pistol Pete revisited
« on: September 23, 2018, 02:16 PM »
So some 6 years ago I built this CW Pistol Pete,

still wearing its lovely original chrome it was always a bit of a grail of mine being a big CW fan,i know they aren't many peoples cuppa as they are pretty ugly with their weird crazy geometry but I love them, every other kid around my way had a cw as living just an hour away from hotwheels in Bournemouth who were the uk importers of CW it was always going to be the case.i built it pretty near to factory spec and was always my intention to finish it 100% factory correct but fast forward a year to 2013 and along came a 5 year Hiatus and everything got shelved,so recently I dipped my toe back in and got around to finishing it off.
its no longer factory correct,i firstly stuck a set of tuffs on it,although a race bike it suits the tuffs with its chunky tubing, then it was crying out for some chunky cranks to compliment it and the one piece just looked lost on it so in came a set of profiles, topped off with a set of hutch beartraps, anyway here she is,i think its going to be a bit marmite,CW's have always been a bit marmite!!

I hate marmite but I love this.

CW are ignored by so many but I commend those who haven’t, go out and ride one!

I agree completely with your words and love for these bikes. I’ve ridden mine on a few rides and it feels far bigger because of that geometry.

Love it love it love it
