Help with one piece crank
« on: July 27, 2018, 10:49 AM »
Hi all

So my aim  to get a one piece crank for my 85 Haro , now the problem is that I am completely new to builds and TBH I don't have a bloody clue, 44t, 175 crank, which type of BB and  how to tell if that  scamBay seller is selling actually a  original Sugino chain ring or if its repro! the list goes on.

My options atm is  to go for a Sugino set up or a Haro uni  chain ring with power disc and Tange BB from  Alans then find a crank but it must fit around the decade of my Haro

If any one can offer advice that would be great and yes I know I opened my self up for a bit of piss taking and banter  :LolLolLolLol:

Look at my builds in my me and my bikes section, pretty much all cranks were done the same way.

Tange BB, Sugino or Takagi 175 crank, 44t (preferred) Sugino chainring.

On the 85's they used a Sugino one piece crank. They are really common and usually loads for sale. Anything from £30 to £70+ depending on condition. You will need a 24TPI bottom bracket.
The repop uni directional rings and disc from Alan's look pretty good and will give it a factory look....

Sugino have repop their chainrings. Check it's an 80s before buying. Cranks have not been repop as far as I'm aware.  :daumenhoch:
