Hey can anyone remember the name of the wee guy who seemed to win every moto in the early eighties,aged about 8 or 9,

Would imagine you mean David Maw, he won everything bitd.  Was also World Champion.  Sadly passed away.  RIP.

I lost track of time! Its a while ago. There was a memorial race at Chesterfield that I remember going to, but the exact year I really don't remember. I'm guessing mid to late 90's.
I feel bad now :-[

He definitely was.
The whole of the Maw family are fondly remembered by a lot I'm sure.
It wasn't that long ago that Jonty Maw was still riding up in the Grimsby area. A lot of the lads on www.gypobmx.co.uk used to hang with him and ride. Not sure if he still is though.
