Toyo Frame Company, Japan
« on: December 14, 2016, 11:57 AM »
So I went to my first new school race meeting over the weekend [more info and pics here:-  http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=189149.msg1900435#msg1900435 ] and one of the bikes that caught me eye was this:-

I know little or nothing about new school bikes, let alone new school race bikes, but really liked the lines of the frame and quality of the welds, so had a closer look which revealed that it was made by Toyo:-

The name rang a faint bell with me, so I asked the rider more about the frame and he confirmed that it was made in Osaka, which was quite apt as I was sitting on my Laserlite at the time. So when I got home I did some research on the ol' worldwide web and low and behold found that Toyo had made some of the early Kuwaharas! It looks like BMX is only a small part of their business but something is better than nothing. Here's a link to their latest offering:-

I love these little tie-ups! Simple things for simple minds, and all that! :daumenhoch:

Great stuff Mick. I've heard it said a few times that the T stamp on Tange frames actually stands for Toyo ;)

Tbh I've got no room to talk as I have my seat high on  OS bmx ( not that high though ).

That's why I've gone to 26" cruiser's as I don't have to be shoe horned on to one  :D
