Haro sport basher
« on: October 17, 2016, 02:13 PM »
Hi guys having finished restoring my pride and joy 94 Gt vertigo I'm seriously wanting to get a early 90s Haro sport bashguard bmx I think preferably chrome but not too bothered or possibly a 92ish master air. I have been scanning eBay but nothing on there recently. Could anyone let me know where to look or who to speak to to try and track a good one down. Also if anyone knows of someone with a fusion chainring the black one with the metal ring with fusion stamped all round it please let me know. Long shot I guess but worth a go.
I know I'm not crazy the voices in my head told me so.

they crop up on  here occasionally, start a thread in the Wanted section ,  '91 sport is the one to have, black n orange  :daumenhoch:, imo  , but people tend to hang on to em....  :-X,  not much chance of getting a '90 ,i think there are only  few in uk, i may be wrong but i think chrome ones are '92 onwards  :-\   sure some of the haro collectors will know for sure

Hi ya buddy, 93-94 sports crop up a bit and so do 94's and the basher, as for a 90 I'm pretty sure there's only 1 the uk but I've not been around much so could be more now, 91's are tricky to land and are the sought after model, most models to pop up on the museum so keep checking there

The 89 master is rare and sought after and fetches very good money
The 1990 sport is the rarest . they were never in the catalogue and only  a batch of 200 made in the USA only . About 10 exist .
Im lucky to have two .
The 91 Airmaster ..the only master built to fly is of course very desirable.
The 91 sport and 92 sport are good to have and the last of the cro-moly frames....
After that Bob haro was no longer part of haro , and the bikes became mass made kids bike. The sport became the basher and was tri moly . The 93-6 frames are not rare and many are nos ....
In conclusion the most expensive are the 89 master the 90 sport and the 91 Airmaster .
A 91 and 92 Sport follow .....even a 1990 master .
Everything else avoid..unless you want a cheapie rider !!
Based in Exeter, Devon and London's West End but now living and working in Essex
Loving Haro 82 - 89

89 master and rare them words don't go together dude! There like buses! All of em come up 89-92 loads
I was told the exact same thing when I put a wanted ad up for a airmaster and that evening I bought 1 less then a mile away!
Half the time it's all about asking the right people

Errrrr.... not quite correct  :)

The Sport continued on in 93 and 94 and both were made from full cromo  :daumenhoch:

Check the catalogues ... the 91 Sport might cost you more now but the 93 and 94 are much stronger bikes.

Thanks for the advice on what to look for 👍 I am really liking the 91 sport in yellow and black I see one on bmx museum but when I asked if they would post to uk the answer was a resounding NO. I even offered to pay 300 dollars more plus shipping, still got shut down though. As for them coming up a lot am I checking the right places as I have been searching eBay for the last month or so but nothing comes up am I missing something ?

YEAH BOYYEEEE I managed to get a 91 yellow flouro frame and forks today 👍 Super excited to get on this one. If anyone knows of a good powder coated in or around Essex that would be great. I have some hope 48rims on haro hubs to go on there but will be after everything else  so if anyone has kneesavers or acs boa breaks or fusion seatpost, stem or headset ,bottom bracket then please let me know 👍

I'm guessing it's the one from eBay that was pulled yesterday?

Yeah had a few people tell me its hard to replicate the colour of them, i don't know how bad the paint is yet as i have not received the frame and forks yet but it should be here this week so i will see and post pics when i can. If the coat is bad and i can't replicate the colour in powder how wrong would it be to spray the bike as I'm sure i can match the colour in car paint, and i know a really good sprayer that can do the work for me ?
