tesco delivery came today, including a bottle of oven pride...

had a go at stripping a macneil light sprocket, and i'm going outside shortly to put a blue araya aero rim and suzue hub into the bag...

you guys were right. that stuff is real handy to use. way better (read: safer and easier) than caustic.  :daumenhoch:

thanks folks,

kinda running about now going "what else can i put in the bag?". the wife suggested the racks outta the oven...  :wtf:

one question for you guys.

the aero rim came up pretty good, the hub not so good.

what do u recommend for polishing, if i need something with a bit of a cutting action in there?

t-cut and silvo worked ok for the chainwheel, but don't think they're gonna do it for the hub...

thanks in advance,

brian.

Autosolv is the best stuff I've ever found, good cutting action, then a polish with Meguiars NXT All Metal Polish and then a coat of Meguiars Tech Wax to seal the shine in  :daumenhoch:

It may be easier to use than Caustic Soda, but it is nowhere near as much fun as Caustic Soda.  :D
