My new ride...Team Aero Pro
« on: September 04, 2006, 11:16 PM »
Bought this at the Raleigh Rally event at the weekend... I'm so chuffed. I've been after one for around 6 months now. Just in the process of giving it a good clean. It's a complete survivor except tyres. What do you think  ?  :)  :Great_Britain:

Mine doesn't have a stamp underneath... was talk that it could be an actual riders bike... but I've been informed they'd usually have the raleigh on the downtube rather than the burner. But good ol ruffs doesn't... hmmmm... or would that just be a promo shot and not his own ?

There were two other survivors at the weekend and a restored team.

To my suprise my aero pro didn't have the usual tange stamp on the bottom bracket

Well, today a removed the rear wheel to give a good clean around the rear dropouts and I found a serial number...  WTF ???

This situated on the left hand side, on the inside of the dropout.

It reads: 4 L 0 1 7 7 (symbol)

I've been told the baseball symbol is connected with kozumi, the makers of the mk I Pro Burner and cromo. I posted about this earlier today on the burner forum so if you want to read more go here http://www.raleighburner.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php't=4618

This is the only Aero Pro so far within the community, to have this stamp and in this place. Anyone here know why this may be ?
