nice build ... but ... personally I don't get the platform over the platform thing?
If I was judging Old School Freestyle ( I wasn't this year :-) ) I would have had a problem with that ... just becuase the Skyway Freestyle platform was designed to go on a TA ( or any platformless bike ) ... to make it more 'freestyle' ... and a Streetbeat is an evoloution from that so it already has a platform.
This in no way takes away from the fact that, as ALWAYS, you should build what you want and how you like it ... but as you are puzzling on what may have been seen as a negative ... that may have been it.
I will also add, having been involved in judging for the last 2 years... the Old School Freestyle and Race and the BIGGEST sections of the show 'n' shine and have the most entrants and are therefore the most hotly contested ... trying to pick a top 3 ( plus a 'highly commended' ) in that section is very VERY difficult. Sometimes the decision has to come down to detail to try and create a top 3 and then seperate that top three... we have the best builds in the UK on show ... its a tough one for sure.
I have been entering bikes for the past 4 years and was convinced of my chances every year! nothing in the first 2 years, got a 'highly commended' medal last year and a 3rd and 2nd this year ... for which I was over the moon about... but you learn something new every year ... and the judging panels change every year... so theres no set formula to win ... just keep building what you love ... learn from the criticism ( and abuse ... this is RADBMX
) and HAVE FUN doing it.
The definition of 'success' is to go from failure to failure without the slightest loss of enthusiasm
