New school colours
« on: January 21, 2015, 10:01 PM »
Is it just me, but are some of the colour schemes on the new school bikes the complete dogs in a very good way.  I cant help admitting my trickfox gave more than a nod in the new school direction when i was choosing colours.

Companies have been doing some lovely coloured frames for a few years now, clear reds, blues and copper over raw being my faves  :smitten:

When you start to actually look at the new stuff, be it frames, forks or components you really appreciate how well made they are  :daumenhoch:

it annoys the fook out of me when people come out with the age old line "new school bikes all look the same" If they actually took some time to look at different bikes/frames they'd quickly realise they're not.  Yes the standard design is very similar but that has come from decades of evolution, but each frame will have very subtle differences and it's this attention to detail that's great.

Yeah you have to stare at them for ages and take measurements and use your geometry set. Great fun.

Hmm, my Supercross looks nowt like ED209s bike above, and neither look like Pickle's Goose thingy.
It's a joy to ride a BMX that actually fits and doesn't fall apart when my 100+ kg lands badly on it  :4_17_5:
I told the mrs that I'd sell it when I recently got my first new skool 20" racebike (but I don't want to...)

Suppose you could argue that the S&M Holmes was race/freestyle pre the Challenger coming out. There's a few like that me old mukka.

I dont like the look of most of the new schools, but I have had my eye on the m.aiken frame for awhile and am actually considering buying one just as a 'look at and admire' piece. The finish and colour looks awesome, reminds me of how blown away I was when I first saw black chrome!!
When I was born, the world was a far simpler place.
It was all just cops and robbers.
And BMX.
