Cheers Joff, Im guessing 1 piece cranks are a no no?
Any ideas on bb sets, do i just need to match the bb diameter and width?

any 3 piece cranks should fit with a matching euro bottom bracket. no chance of a one piece crank fitting though.

Measure the bb width, it will be 68 or 73, on the off chance it's 70, you'll need an Italian threaded bb but it's unlikely
Then you need the spindle width, most single speed track bikes use a 108mm width but some use 110 and campagnolo 111mm
So, 68/108 would be a common square taper bb for single speed.
This might help for cross reference
