2003 FBM Night Train
« on: September 23, 2014, 01:11 PM »
Picked this up a couple of weeks ago from the original owner.
Adjusted the bars, flipped the lever threw on a rear peg and it rode sweet.

The description is from the 2010 Face book ad.

This is an FBM Night Train that I first built up in 2003. It started life as a maroon frame but a few years ago I gave it a full custom re-spray. One owner, a bike mechanic and life-long BMXer, so you can feel confident about the quality of the ride and the build. There are a few marks, scuffs and scratches that you’d expect for a bike that has been used for park- and street-riding. Try not to think of this as a piece of memorabilia, but as a fine example of an era when the bikes were built to a beating and come back for more. It’s been hiding in the shed for the last 2-3 years, but I’ve just updated the wheels with new rims and spokes front and rear plus a new front hub. Here are the specs:

Frame: FBM Night Train, 20.75” top tube.
Forks: S&M Pitchforks.
Headset: FSA Pig, sealed.
Stem: DK Street.
Handlebars: Odyssey Milk Bars, 41 thermal.
Grips: Primo
Cranks: Wethepeople, Cr-Mo 3-piece 175mm, 22mm spindle.
Bottom Bracket: American, sealed.
Pedals: Odyssey Cielincki, sealed.
Chainwheel: Profile Imperial, 42 teeth.
Freewheel: ACS Claws, 16 teeth.
Front Hub: Wethepeople Pi, 48 hole, 3/8” axle, sealed.
Rear Hub: Primo Pro, 48 hole, 14mm axle, sealed.
Rims: Sun Rhyno Lite XL, 48 hole.
Spokes: Stainless 14 gauge, brass nipples.
Tires: Primo Dirt Monster 20 x 2.10 (front), Primo Wall 20 x 2.10 (rear).
Brake Lever: Diatech Tech 99.
Brakes: Dia-compe Hombre, Kool Stop pads.
Brake cable: Odyssey Linear.
Seat: Primo Hemorrhoid.
Seat Post: Primo Rod.
Seat Post Clamp: Primo.
Extras: Primo bar ends, Profile grip-stop clamp.

Yeah - love them late mid bikes. Are the grips the Primo Dirt Monster grips?

Also - being a-to-the-nal but the stems a DK Jumping stem (puts tw@t cap away).

The description was the original owners, I thought it was a jumping stem.

The description was taken from an old face book ad, I should have deleted the price. The bike is not for sale (just bought it myself)  though I can see how it could read that way.

Thanks for the replies.

Cheers :)
