Hoffman 1 inch clamp on stem
« on: July 18, 2014, 10:44 PM »
I have a Hoffman 1 inch clamp on stem that unfortunately does not fit onto my 1 inch superforks.  From the research I have done this could be down to the fact that there were 2 1 inch clamp ons made by Hoffman.  The ealier stem (the one I have) not fitting the 97 threadless superfork.  Firstly can anyone tell me if this is true.....secondly has anyone got the later model they'd like to trade/sell if it is true?

The early stems need to go on the early super forks.

They were called 1" but weren't actually the same size stem as the 1" forks.

If you decide to part with the stem I'd be interested in buying it :) (don't have a 1" to trade sorry)

The later 1" stems are easier to track down than the early forks will be. They are the standard HB star logo stem.

Hope you get sorted  :daumenhoch:

Here are the forks that I'm trying to get it on.  Hopefully these pictures will help someone point me in the right direction.....

I have this stem that came with the forks and fits nicely.  Anybody have any ideas who made it though?

That stem is 100% deffo a Dragonfly one. In fact, your forks I think are Dragonfly as well - they're called the Dragonfly Moscherfork, released in late '96 and came as a fork/headset and stem combo. That'll be why the HB stem doesn't fit  :daumenhoch:
