SE FLOVAL FLYER 1999 colour advice
« on: August 18, 2006, 07:15 PM »
m building a floval flyer, ive stripped the frame, and was gonna polish it - ive started on the downtube and cant quite get the mirror finish Id like - im either gonna keep trying with the wet n dry / autosol / peek method, OR im gonna have it powdercoated - and im thinking that with the NOS decal set I have [in gold] I could either go baby blue or perhaps black? Im tempted towards black as all the bits and wheels Ive got are black and chrome [chrome forks, black wheels, chrome hubs, chrome cranks, black seatpost and seat, black bars, chrome stem etc...]
So - any thoughts on what colour? Or should I stick with the polishing? I cant decide!

Black! :daumenhoch:
Once you've had black there's no turning back.

I've got a 99 Floval in polished and it looked good once but is a bitch to keep looking good (doesn't help that I am a lazy sod so never polish it mind). Depends whether you want to ride it or show it off - polished to show, paint to go.

It's just a trick of the light, but the top and seat tubes look like they're mother-of-pearl.
A "Country & Western Flyer"  :D

Have you tried just polishing a small section at a time - if you try to do a large area at once and the polish dries then it doesn't get that mirror finish.
