Dyeing the skyways wont make em whiter Graham, you'll need to bleach em bud. Industrial peroxide works but needs sunshine for best results. .
I find black rit the best black dye & normally whack 2 packs in & 1kg of salt fella. Never done zd's so don't know if they take well or not  :daumenhoch:

Cheers chubby  :daumenhoch: went and bought a plastic box there in B&Q,a little to small for the rim  :-\ but i got a polystyrene box big enough so am going to line it with my pool table cover incase the poly would suck the dye in.

To bleach the skyways pure bleach or watered, and how long for?......have you tried it before?

Graham if you are going the bleach route get the really cheap Tesco own brand bottles, I think they are 2 litres. Any thin stuff will do and don't forget to vasaline the hubs or the bleach will affect them.
I left mine in for 2 days then gave them a really good rinse and a good coating of wd40 while hanging on the washing line through the valve hole. Worked great :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Hi HokusPookus,

I have just bleached my OE's for my decade. They were awful before hand.  Before you try anything else, get a bottle of Cillit Bang with bleach, looks like this:

Spray the wheel, leave for 15 mins, scrub with a softish scouring pad and rinse.  Do this again a couple of times until it looks clean.

Just using the above method turned this:

Into this:

A comparison:

The result was so impressive, im debating whether to bother using peroxide on them.  Can they be 'too white' for a survivor? 8)

No need to wd40 them bud, you've only cleaned them. People use the wd on wheels after dying as they come out dull/dry looking & need shinning up. You've had a great result with that cilit bang,  barry scott is a genius........... LolLolLolLol

sent using my crayons

For white Tuffs the best way is aquablasting. You will be amazed

Sid1972 found a place in Barnsley called Metal Magic who do it and they come up amazing for about £25-30.

I got a set done for Animal and SteveVXR so ask them how good they came up :coolsmiley:
Still limping......

It's £3.50 a bottle. Gotta be worth a go! The photos make them look brighter white than they actually are, but I'm pleased with them! That cillit bang and a scourer even got rid of brake rub. :daumenhoch:

I think it's the bleach ingredient that does the trick mate. I picked up another bottle today, as it was on offer ;D As for the scourer, i used a green one to get the brake rub off- the braking surface isnt scratched.  On the rest of the wheel, i used a well used scourer-one of the ones on the top of a sponge.
