Ok so apart from the Curtis Cruiser I have on order this is my final build.
I've been fortunate enough to have managed & build (All) of my Iconic bikes from the early mid 80's in the last 18 months & I don't feel like there's much left for me to build & that final scratch has now been itched.
I purchased this frame in September (felt really guilty as it came up for sale whilst i was at the Airport about to fly to Ibiza with the now (Ex Miss Worm)
and i was moaning about money for the 2 weeks we were there as a result ....
Ah well, plenty more worms in the ground n all that
It's taken an age to get this bike done as i was holding out for some Vincent forks, I tried every avenue possible even tried to get some made up but this wasn't possible & they are just rarer than pretty much anything out there.
Once i'd gotten my head around not getting any I decided that a great compromise was to find a set Of DP freestyler forks (again reasonably difficult to find on their own). These have very similar geometry to the Vincent's & a slightly wider stance which is actually way better for routing the front brake cable on the inner side of the fork to in order to run a potts mod conversion (this is almost impossible to do with the originals as there's no clearance) Ask Chubby......
The frame is the one used by Katie Vincent who used it to measure out the drawings in order to create a Gen 2 freestyler a couple of years back & has been owned by 2 people on here before me. Unfortunately the paint was shot & underneath it had been chrome originally so i had this all removed & sent Everything down to SBD after trying to save the chrome but it was too far gone.
Ive considered a couple of colour ways on this build but ended up going for my original design (as i always do). White blue Orange is a classic colour way for vin cents & i wanted to keep it reasonable traditional. I actually went through 3 different Orange seats (viscount Aero / Viscount Dyna & a ransom Aero version before settling for this Velo Freestyle seat as the colour was the closest to everything else on the bike.
Anyway hope you like, its a mix of New & Nos parts & i think the balance of colour is spot on.
