only asking cos i only go 44t but could pedal more.

i just wondered as i've seen rings upto 47t, surely these would hit the chainstay on a lot of old school's as some already have marks there even with 44t fitted

Richie4 regularly used to use 45,46t ,won o/s north region series in 2012  :daumenhoch:

I've seen a 47 in his collection  :shocked:

just don't see many builds with them (saying that i bet i do now)

Bigger than 45 is not the norm,but lower than 43 is a no go for a race bike in my opinion  :),Nowhere fast.

Not much call for 45+teeth, by the time people wanted harder gearings, smaller rear sprockets and compatible hubs came about. One of my favourite pro racers Kenny May ran 41-14, which equates to 46-16.

well do many use a 46 or 47 on a rider then (not racing just riding around)

i appreciate the newer bikes have smaller cogs that most likely equal this type front sprocket

but i would like to know if anyone actually has these big cogs fitted, and could they post a pic even more so if it's the 47
