Made up you got one Darren , cracking bike mate with some nice parts on it 

Good story behind them both , ie owned by two brothers from new and both supplied by Alan's . Mine's already stripped aswell    Chrome 280X to go with the Yellow 280X  ....... I have way too many bikes !!

Absolutely great history as you say pal,  glad you grabbed the other Torker 280x.  .

The Torkers stripped to the baring cups now and came apart easily with no surprises or seizures.

Now for the cleanup,  I have decided to keep the bike as it was albeit might change the 1pc cranks for a nice Shimano 600 I have already  .   apart from that it will be cleaned serviced and kept as it has been for 33 years even with some battle scars here and there. I Can't change it.  .......
