MK1 chopper.

Just picked this MK1 chopper up , I don't really know fook all about them. Is anyone into them, if so any help would be greatly appreciated

Was only looking at mark 1 bits and pieces on ebay the other day and contemplating having a go myself
There seems to be many parts available in a whole range of conditions and prices...lots of nice re-chromes parts and bolts are around if you start digging....
I might have a sneaky peak now myself
Lots of people seem to have cheap survivors or bike's they've broken up for spares. There may not be any nos parts around but there are plenty of nice condition seats and decals around

I bought my dad a mk 1 in the summer as it was a child hood dream to own 1, and I thought it could be a nice father son project, it's not left the box since he opened it! Waste of fooking money! Lol

Thats what I thought and then I saw you'd answered the same

Cranks could do with a little bit of dirt on them to blend em in

found a bargain on a flea market 20 years ago, i was only a few Mark short  - love em

Mk1 that was Horizon Blue...  It's a bit of a state though isn't it! They are usually cracked somewhere at the back, they upright seat tubes used to shear off at the dropouts or crack around the brake bridge (that appears to be missing?)

It's also missing the desirable round shifter.

Just stripped it down, the f&f are in fairly good condition, but I think I might get rid , think it's a bit to much for me. So if anyone wants it £80 .

I remember my mk1 was missing the round gear knob, so I basically rode around for a few years with a metal spike pointing at my crotch   
Even riskier given that second gear was like neutral so any uphill riding was like playing Russian roulette with my young genitals

A kid in my close had one of these bad boys, was the only one I ever saw and to me was the coolest bike ever



My cousin had a chopper with some of these wheels


Someone at mk12 had a pretty cool chopper with skyways on, can't remember if the front was a 16" though

16" as standard, but this particular one didn't look very standard

I've seen a few with front(16")and rear(20") skyway tuffs and they look reet enough :smitten
I think if you are going to do a chopper resto you are better getting a frame and forks and starting from scratch.... that was when parts seemed in abundance a few weeks ago

Just sold it, it's not my bag really. Shame it's a nice project but just don't have the cash at the min, the guy who's buying it is happy as fook , so it all ends well.
