DP Freestyler off e bay..... Result.....
« on: May 01, 2013, 08:59 PM »
Hi guys

im sure some of you seen this on e bay but the guy was based in Denmark so it put a lot of people off.... He was on the Facebook DP owners club as well so I thought I would take a punt... You all know I love a twin tube freestyler...... :smitten:

Ok so it turned up  :2gunsfiring_v1: with the wheels in 2 cardboard boxes and I thought oh bugger this is gona be a mess...... But it wasnt to bad, grips damaged and Elina UL cracked but wasnt using it anyway.....

Chrome was just surface rust and some lovely bits on it, shame its got redline forks and not DP forks  :(
DP Firebird freestyler in awesome chrome
Araya 7X balck rims, slight buckle on back but pretty tidy
Diamond Back Pro bars ,mint
Suntour power stem in black, pretty much brand new, no marks and removed it to put SR in and perfect on shaft.... :smitten:
Pretty much mint Tuff Neck power disc in black and Tuff neck ring 44t..... :smitten: Not using these going with spider combo......

I will let the pics do the talking but some Pro Rust gel rust remover and Peek and goddards polishing cloth....... It will be mint by the weekend, got sticker set but undecided on colour scheme but probably black/white??????

Bikes are there to be ridden, so why do I have so many.....

I thought that Dave but I'm sure Redline did some similar early on with the long leg so probably Redline.

Why put all the shite midschool bits on it though? Looked ace as it came and those DB bars are bang tidy.
Still limping......

fair comment mate........ I think Pro bars belong on race bikes not freestylers so prob gona put EZ 2 bars on in chrome, skyway seat is there till I put a Kashi on, Suntour stem is needed for a Laser Lite build..... Elina seat was bent and cracked.......

Hate power discs so put a nice spider on her, I like them..... :crazy2:

Thanks for feedback though always welcomed..... Positive or not......  :daumenhoch:

ha ha bendycat no mate.......... I followed your thread and bought a cali off childhoodream AKA Russ.......... Simple....... Started with Pro Rust gel that i got off e bay...... Awesome, stick it on chrome, leave for an hour wipe off the rust.... repeat on hard pitrted manky areas.....  :smitten:

Next peek, no auto sol etc...... Toothbrush and clothes and patience..... Worth all the hard aching fingers, 45 mins I spent on this...... then Gooodards silver cloth and Voila........... Nothing compares, even shocked me....... The pics do not do the chrome justice, it is mint and shines sooooo much......

Just done my other Cali tonight as the Cali off Russ turned up and put my other Gooses to shame...... Did the same and what a difference..... :smitten: :smitten:

Im currently doing an Ammaco freestyler that looked battered but its coming up nice with this method....... Coke is for drinking and tin foil is for the man on Britains got talent........  :crazy2: :crazy2:
