Gusset squeakers and other clear brake pads

Blimey they're loud!  Wasn't expecting that. The good thing is they actually stop me (of which I'm very glad) but jeebus they scream more than a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert

Is there any way to quieter them down without reducing the braking power or will they naturally get a bit quieter?

Don't fancy being slapped with an ASBO just yet  ;D

toe in  ..... is the big mystery  :LolLolLolLol:  simple realy though,     firstly make sure you nip the block up good and tight when you've got the following sorted ...... set the back of the block off  the the rim when the brake is applied it will stop the squeek,  try a mill or 2 first.

if the blocks are the new soft squashy ones you'll kneed quite a bit of gap, the blocks will probably look odd stuck out to far , but with the new soft blocks the toe in is lost because the blocks compress when the brake is applied ,  grab the brake as if your trying to stop dead rather than just slowing down if there is still a a gap at the back of the block you should be ok.  if not  try  increasing the gap till the squeek stops ,you can also sand down the back edge of the block

You might want to look at the Odyssey Ghost blocks they have the toe in shaped in the block (although it's just not quite big enough....  :-X :-X  )  you don't kneed a block the size of the current ones for em to work properly if you set em up right .
