Immingham Track
« on: February 05, 2013, 05:50 PM »
Went for a look at the old track at Immingham this afternoon. For those who are not familiar with the track, it was based upon the classic Wigan track and they even tried to copy King Kong (badly!). For those who are familiar with it will remember it was fookin long and you needed oxygen half way round!

First straight looking from the start gate.

This is looking across to the 'pro' section from the start gate.

From the first corner back to the start gate.

Tyres marking the first corner with the whoops in the distance.

Taken from the side of the track just before the second berm, you can see where the track split into the 'pro' section. It seemed a lot fookin higher back in the day ???

Shame to see it in such disrepair; however, it wouldn't need much love to bring it back to it's former hell :LolLolLolLol:

That was one wet weekend! I slept in the car

That track had the most pointless pro section in the world. Infact the whole track was pretty dull. Good training mind!

Neil is right, very long, very flat and very boring. You could probably ride a 47/16 set up no problems there. Depending on the wind strength as is out in the open some what :idiot2:

Like Nick said they tried to copy three sisters ,it was  a decent track though ,but nowhere near Wigan ( IMO the best old school track)
