« on: December 04, 2012, 10:07 PM »
Hi guys...
Well for the 3 years that I have been a member of this site this is the bike I've I always wanted to do.
As most of you know, it's the Skyway Streetbeat that is my all time favourite old school BMX.

Since watching Craig and Carlo on Bmx Beat in 86... It's been my 'most wanted'.... :coolsmiley:

The ad that inspired the build......

Now big thanks to all who have helped with this....it's been a long, but well worth the wait, build.
Thanks to everyone, not least SBD, Del, Pickle and all the others,  you know who you are.  :daumenhoch:

Ok here we go...........I hope you enjoy.  ;)

From this:

To this:

More pics to come...

The parts list:

The actual spec which is pretty damn close...and made up of mostly NOS parts.

Skyway Streetbeat Frame and Forks Grey and Baby Blue Two Tone

Skywat Hot Seat in Baby Blue
Skyway Mid 80's Coaster Tuffs in Baby Blue

Not a fan of beats but that looks great  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

That is stunning.   :4_17_5:

Are the brake pads on back to front?  Not fussed on the bright blue cable ties - you can get transparent ones which wouldn't stand out so much.  The loop on the front brake cable can be hidden on the inside of the fork leg for a cleaner look too.

Thanks for the comments guys....Dan only got this to me today so have only lightly built it up tonight.
My 9 year old daughter has helped build it so big thanks to Holly... :-*

The colour doesn't look as good in the photos and looks much brighter in the flesh.  :smitten:
Yes I agree with the cable ties as they were the only ones about...and yes the front blocks are on back to front....blame holly for that one!!!

Kitchen is nearly finished also thanks for noticing Rich.........I built that too. :daumenhoch:

cracking build  8).
i used to be partial to the odd streetbeat myself a few years back.
if the front forks are the same size tube as the mk1 beats the smaller dia compe cable clips are a perfect fit for ya potts mod cable and are deffo better than cable ties  :daumenhoch:
