Importance of protective wear!!

I'm always banging on to my lad about wearing helmet and gloves, I always try and lead by example and wear gloves and pee pot when ever i ride. With the exception of yesterday, when i popped round the corner, No gloves or bash hat........... just round the corner... I'll be alright...









As i hit a gravel path at speed, lost the arse end and bang........

Both hands raw a fook I'm usually so careful as i use my hands for a living, well I will be gloved each and every time from now on!! Even to pop round the corner

The right side looks more like a rosie palmer kind of injury only a small rub 

Didn't hurt at all, untill i got home and pulled all the grit and loose skin off, it's been stinging like a bitch since

Ouch! Did this as a kid on gravel too and have always rode with gloves ever since, until i could afford to buy a propper pair i wore my farthers welding gloves, they were huge! Looked like some crazy power gauntlets, came of again a few weeks later in exactly the same place, hands fine and gloves dident even have a scratch. Top budegt tip for gloves people...though i do prefer my s.e/oakleys
