Opinions on this PK please!
« on: August 30, 2012, 11:33 PM »
Hi everyone.

I'm trying to re-light my BMX fire with a PK - something that I always wanted in my teens but never saw the light of day! Now in my early 40's (steady now!) and I'm looking to scratch the 25 year old itch! I've always wanted one in some sort of blue colour but I'm fast discovering that I might be a bit out of my depth financially! Plus, I'm really looking for a bike that I can ride & enjoy - rather than hang on the wall!  :coolsmiley:

So, I know that this won't necessarily appeal to some of the purists out there but I saw this and thought of me: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280950814689?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_500wt_1362

I'd be very appreciative of your opinions on it as a ridable bike and how 'upgradable' it might be! I realise that it probably won't appreciate (much) like an old-school PK but I might have to admit that I might never own one of these. Not a problem - as long as I'm not making a mistake if i buy this(?)

Any ideas on what it should sell for and what it would have cost new?

Thanks y'all!

Gal.

Hi there!

I'm in south Wales (UK). And yes, someone very kindly pointed me in the direction of that thread a few days ago and I almost ended up being sectioned! I only just realised what it was before I went and clicked on to it again!  :D

Total porn, isn't it!? Bordering on provocative if you ask me!

If your after a "Ripper" to thrash around on and don't care if you fall off it I'd go for one of the newer ones  :daumenhoch: You'll have to pay shipping and probably import tax on this too so watch the price. Put a wanted thread up for a retro ripper and if it's not the right colour pm superbikedan and he'll sort that for you  :daumenhoch:
WANTED....FRED BLOOD QUADANGLE FRAME..

Listing says shipping to the lower 48 only, probably easier and cheaper to look for something in this country.

The 2013 model of the retro Ripper will be available soon, white with blue Skyways, if that was the way you wanted to go.

Anyone got any idea of what price they'll be and where's best to get one...? [EDIT] Just seen the Triton wed site so will try there - unless there are any other suggestions...?

Thanks everyone! Have great weekend!!
