My WAL decals and bashguard turned up from Mr Ron today

The bashy is gonna need some fettling but thats part of the fun.

Hopefully getting my Flat bars & the Supernatural fork & bar combo ... then we can get into some NOS decal stripping

What I paid & what I reckon its worth is 2 different things

All I know is that I love building stuff thats a bit different ... even if that means 'adaption' ... the Riots weren't renown for 'strength' on the rear drop outs... but the big boy looks like a MKII Riot where they got it right ... but the Riot decals & graphics were loads better... so thats what I wana make

Thats exactly what Big Boy's were, MK3 Riots. The only reason they weren't called WAL Riots any more is because Ron got divorced and his wife was trying to clean him out for the company. He changed the name etc for legal reasons but its all the same company and same evolution of products.

Looking forward to seeing updated pics.

I see what you are saying ... just been looking at pics and there was 2 versions of the Riot wasn't there... first one with a coaster anchor and no brake mounts ( MKI ), then they lost the coaster and added AD mounts ( MKII ) ... I never knew the reason behind the name change tho ... thanks for that

now I just have to resist the urge to get the decals on before I've done the work to make the bash guard fit

I've been offering them up ... its tempting ...

A NOS Riot bashguard
A full NOS Riot decal set
A NOS Big Boy decal set ( if I ever want to change it back )
4 extra Wilkerson Airlines stickers

Now I just need to glue the bashguard to the frame ... wheres me pritt stick?

As you know, i'm all about `your bike, your rules' but that is looking good, and its not a WAL, it is what it is. It is a 2hip Bigboy, it will always be that, and when, in a few years time, another RADSTER wants a Bigboy, and all he can find is your cast off `spazzed' up Riot looky-likey, it'll be a travesty.

Relax young Ed-I, the WAL will come, there are about 200 grown men now looking for one for you.

But if you want to make it into one, I'm still happy to go all `medieval' on its fat ass!!
