my 1985 mongoose californian
« on: July 10, 2012, 05:35 PM »
just thought i'd share some pics i just taken of my californian 85'
which i bought last week, i just given it a clean off as it was abit dusty being left in a loft for about 25 years untouched.
the chrome looks excellent and the stickers are all good too.
im pleased with it :) last time i had one was 21 years ago!
all i need now is some renthal bars :)

thanks, its the exact bike i had when at school in the 80s up til i left in 1991, never had once since.....
i saw it advertised, i dont think of money as you only live once....... and if you want something in life just buy it! ;)
... but i just thought im having it not matter what as it brought back so many memories and i just had a good large payout from the bookies on the euro football finals ;D

i gotta say i know nothing about bmx's or mongoose californians but here to learn more and hope to buy some more to ride about and restore  ;)

i dont even know what the handle bars are on this californian? as my one i had in the 80s had renthal, so if anyone got a good set of renthals for sale then let me know :daumenhoch:

I think its a reasonable price for what you have got there. How did you come accross it?

Check out this link to me and my bikes to my bro's Mongoose Californian.

good score i'd say looks great all to spec ,you'd go through more than 500 to get that built from scratch if its all original even them pads are worth a few quid as for the bars they look like goose pro's there sought after too ,leave it as is  :smitten:

Good price I say as you couldn't build it from scratch for that price :daumenhoch:
