NG Dirtbike Project *New Pics*
« on: July 10, 2012, 10:51 AM »
I'm starting on my next S&M build, This time it's a NG Dirtbike.
Here's the frame (I'll be removing the Holmes decals)...

I'll be using this chrome Ditchfork...

I'll be using these Profile SS hubs laced to chrome Sun BFR 48 hole rims...

I have a set of chrome Slams, A nice Redneck stem, A new repop S&M pad set....Almost everything I need to get it built.
I'll update as the build progresses.

The wheels are NOS. I picked them up here on Aussie ebay for $170 including shipping....They should be here in a couple of days.

Cheers for all of the comments fellas :)

I've decided that I'm going to strip the frame then get it powdercoated. Unsure what colour to go with just yet....Anyone got some suggestions (Pics would be great).

aah, I used to have some ditchforks, got given them for next to nothing and put them on my T1

have to say, agree with the suggestion of olive drab green, although new shiny gloss black powder coat would look nice with chrome parts

I'm leaning towards gloss black for the frame....Built up with chrome parts it should look pretty nice. If I get some time over the weekend I'll strip the frame back to bare metal ready for powdercoating.

Thought I'd update this thread.
My chrome Ditchfork arrived today. Looks super nice....Going to be getting the dropouts professionally machined to suit the 14mm axles.
Finished stripping the thick green powdercoating off the frame today (I used CRC Gasket Stripper - Spray it on, 15 minutes later scrape it off and clean up, Perfect).
Here she is all naked  :smitten:

The rest of the bits came in the mail today so I was able to build the NG Dirtbike. Still need to shorten the front brake cable/dial in the front brakes. I have a set of Hoffman Skidmark tyres coming in the mail for it too.
Anyway, Here are the pics. Hope you like it :)

Another stunning S&M build

There must be something in the Damp air.

Chrome front end is fckn bag on and the angle of the seat is pure Mid to the max.

Good work

Keep the faith. L

I decided to get rid of the front brakes. I might put them back on one day but for now it's rear brakes only.
