Author Topic: Sensible Sized Collection. How many bikes do you think that is? (Read 2021 times)

Im currently building 5 bikes, and have another 3 frames in waiting to get built up. Add to this my "rider" and the cupboard fill of bits I might need and Im starting to run out of space. There are a few more bikes I wouldnt mind owning but cant see it being "sensible" to add too many more to the collection. So here is the question... How many bikes do you think is "sensible" to have in your collection?

It will obviously be different for each person, but would be interesting to know none the less.

depends how much space you have,im on my 10th build and then im out of room.if i had sapce for one of every bmx ever made then that is what id have.spartacus is the man for crazy sized collection,hopefully he might post up a pic

I think Seven is sensible but then I got 8 9 then 10. Oops and a couple in the sidelines aswell

I've got a tad out of control , 24 built and F+F and bits all over the workshop , am about to sell most of them and reduce down to 5 .

I wanted and old a mid and a new. currently own 3 old, 3 mid, 2 new a sensible size is dependant on how many you can sneak past the missus +2

I've got 2 built, one bike stripped i'm considering selling $:-\$

And loads of spares i've kept just in case

Should sell the lot and just have my new school bike and one old un

a garage ,toy room,work shop ,spare room,studio,attic full , then the one your sat on and not forgetting the one youve just bought thats on its way . thats a sensible collection

I think any time you have to stop and think, what is in each room and then count them - you might have more than a sensible sized collection

also depends if the wife is asking the question

Got to 13 completes but thinned it to 6 plus a couple of frames before I bought a new-school and realised i'd never ride old school on a ramp ever again. Kept an oldschool rider and an oldschool show then put all my spare guff on my old Ammaco frame so 4 seemed ok. Accidentally bought another f&f the other day as i'm an idiot..... Damn this hobby!

I started with one Mid school, which quickly became 4 and oh a 5th for my lad (cough cough) 3 pairs of mags, seat posts brakes etc etc....

I then sold everything off, got a sweet new school and of course one for my lad. I now spend a lot more time riding, learning and scaring the shite out of myself, rather than than tinkering.

For me its 5

The five bikes that I really remember from BITD, Ripper, Quad, TA, Master, & a flying 'nana GT Performer.

But I suppose its like owt, as many as you want really?

i've always tried to keep 7 completes (which i narrowed down over years of riding to the best feeling bikes i've ridden) n switched n change em for racing but its just got to the point where im not gonna be able to give them all a go so i've wittled these down to 5 over the last month (4 o/s legal midschool n one n/s race bike), spent the money on guitars n now have 17 of them fookers, and they all ride shite
