The elephant in the room
« on: April 16, 2012, 12:08 PM »
How many and how close is another old school bmxer to you ?
Do you see them often ? pop round for a coffee and talk about bits ?
Do you meet up with them at the weekends ?

Just seems to me that after the London ride there is no one around near me ? feel like i'm in the australian outback tuning into the radio just to find out what's happening and just to try and keep in touch ?

when i was younger i had mates around me - you could go to the local park or bmx place and there would be a gang of your mate to shoot the breeze with - now there is no place to go see if any one is there - family life takes over and the less people you know - even less understand what you are into or see it as a hobby, more than just a sad bloke collecting kids bikes and wasting his money

is it time to give it all up - make some money, even thought the market is just gone silly and price for good stuff is down and price's for stupid stuff gone up

it never used to be like this as a kid - you got the parts you wanted, used them and got more - now it seems we just hoard stuff for it never to see the light or be shown to friends or used ?
it was fun when you went for a ride with your mate - it was easy - it was a laugh ~ now it all seems to be a hassle

just feel that life has lost it's magic due to money, ego's, greed, and no time for other's

cheers B

Wait until baby Bendy comes along. Your life will be in so much chaos that by the time you get yourself sorted you'll have found the love for BMX again.

Its a funny thing about London, all those people and they are all strangers. Miserable fookers!
Move up north Bendy its miles better up here  ;)  ;D

Seriously though, i think everyone gets the bmx blues at some point. You think about selling up, it loses that buzz etc. Have a break from bmx sites, ebay etc. Within a week you will be itching to find out what you may have missed out on  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

I'm the only old BMXer in the village. I love just to cruise around catch a few pints and a chin wag, but alas, my lad is my only company and hearing him brag about how amazing he is [those that have met him will know what i mean!] Got one mate who likes to ride, but his missus thumb is imprinted on the top of his head and he's always 'grounded'.
Mani and wazza arent too far from me, but its the cost of driving over there and finding spare time away from the ever growing hoard of kids i have.

I'm hoping the Hereford ride is going to be a success and people may want to come back on a more regular basis to ride the track and skatepark

I thought I was the only one in my village, then I found out Bobbbbbbbsy was just the other side  ::)
Thankfully though he decided to move to the seaside, so I don't have to feel obliged to socialise with the fooker :daumenhoch:

That's the only thing i miss about living in Dartford, you could go out every night and ride with people. I moved to herne bay and there's a lack of old riders round here and the ones that are think you're a mug if you can't jump the big doubles.

I know what you're saying, I've only come across one guy in Derby on another site and I wouldn't call him a mate.  Shame too, as I live 1/2 mile from the national BMX track but feel a right tw@t turning up when there are only kids around.  I could be there most nights in summer too
