Anyone know where i can get washers/spacers so i can run 10mm axles in 14mm dropouts? Couldnt find them on ebay, probably typing in the wrong thing or something!

These are what I run on my rear mags, on the front forks i use the washers that pop ito the drop out, If you have full size 14mm fork drop outs the above adapters should be fine, but if like me you have the pacman dropouts (the opening is 8mm groove with the hole being 14mm) you'll need the washers.

Does that make sence??

yup , take off the cone nut and use the adapter as a cone nut , run these on my back wheel never had a problem

Cheers, they are 7.50 on ebay or 9.99 from local bike shop. Thinking that although they are more from the shop, might be less hassle

seen em on the bay for under a fiver , mine were in Diamond Back packaging , was a bit unsure about getting em as i was going to go down the washer route myself but they always get chewed up, probs cos i tend to over tighten nuts

these are actually well made from real hard steel , think they do 10mm and 3/8ths versions

If you bought the screw on ones, they are suppose to replace the cone lock nuts......if you do that they are just the right size

It wasn't that m8, they were to tight to fit into the drop outs. I did take the second cone nut off and fit them on to the first one. Are they supposed to be a very tight fit? I would have had to hammer them into the drop outs to make them fit, and I didn't fancy doing that.

if the slots in the dropouts are 14mm they should fit straight in will be a snug fit but nothing that kneeds a hammer,

have seen some frames and wheel sets that used a 12mm axle , on mid school bikes, mostly on the front but may have been on the rear , i assume you have measured the slots , posting up some pics might help?

the set in my pic are on 14mm rear dropouts but have used em on forks with 14mm slots , some i had to spread out the forks sideways, but only about 1mm easy done by hand .

Got them to fit, but had to file 2 flats on each bolt to get them in there! One side of both of the drop outs was less than 14mm, weird.

Haro's good old 12mm drop outs........why they went down that route i'll never know when there was already 10 and 14mm already

I just used normal top washers on mine but filed them down

Those screw on ones are best for the rear axles

One side each of the dropouts if viewed from the bottom had an angle on them, so if you inserted the adaptor from one end it went halfway in, from the other it wouldn't go in at all. Anyway, I'm happy with how it is now, seems nice and strong.
