FFS. Really??

Seems to be the way with lots of things, not just OS BMX. Some people think their items are worth far more than they actually are.

the high prices will continue if people keep paying it !!! and who are to blame? well evryone that pays stupid prices mainly through ebay, when one person sees what someone has previously paid for something they then think they will get more for theirs-the truth is that people keep thinking"i'm never gonna see another one of them again" so they "have to have it"  unfortunately the way prices have gone it has stopped people building their dream bike/bikes-i know unless i can get parts etc reasonable i won't be building any more old school bikes-and in my opinion when "the bubble bursts" there will be a lot of people that are going to get their fingers burnt as when people then decide it's time to grow up (  :LolLolLolLol:) and try to shift it on they will lose a lot of money  :-[

The point is, prices arent going that way in this particular case. The guy is taking the pi$s and will be left with that seat and post unless he wakes up. Buy it nows on ebay like this tend to fail. I remember seeing a blue lettered standard dominator on ebay US last year for silly money. Needless to say the guy still has it or kept reducing it, cant quite remember but it didnt sell for the stupid rate he wanted.

Prices are escalating but that just the evolution of the hobby as it become more accessible and fashionable, as most retro things do. New people get involved and consider the current prices to be the norm and will pay for that big emotional reconnection to the "one that got away" or the "bike they always wanted". Then it hits the bay in a few months when the wife wants a holiday and they think the market rate is what they paid. In fairness, perhaps we should all thin out the stuff we have in the loft and then the rates will come down as demand is satisfied more easily. One thing is certain, theres more stuff being discovered every week, so more access to parts in future.

In 20, maybe 30 years time, maybe the kids of that generation will be spending crazy amounts on magna bmx parts  :LolLolLolLol:

Who am I kidding, those things probably get turned away from even scrap metal merchants.

Maybe some cats have cottoned on to Lamborghini kids money laundering tactics.
£2000 for a seat post, £8000 for a crank. Easy way to wash a few grand every year to stick in your mortgage. It's called green washing.
Hydroponically speaking ;)
