Why not? 29ers were viewed in the same way by purist MTB'ers, now 40-60% of every big name's brochure is occupied by them. Word on the street (and from people who know their oignons) is that they actually do ride well and work brilliantly on various terrain. Even the niche, cool MTB brands have U turned and made em.
S&M are not the 1st to do this, but they will be the 1st do it well and make them cool and desirable.

Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

Looks wrong in the pic, but I like them. I have a couple of 22s, a 24 and a 29. Best of both worlds for the larger gent!  ::)

Or the smaller gent too bud, I ride my Faction 22" regularly at skateparks (usually when i've broken something on my 20" mind) but everyone else who has a go on it is very suprised how good it rides. It's a bit chunky and heavy but it turns ok considering it is such a large bike (21" TT and an extra inch each end for the wheels) but overall it is a great bike. I'm thinking of lightening it up a bit with the cranks, stem, bars and saddle / post wjen I get more time but it really rides great on a track which means it's a great all round machine.

I hope S&M get it right as the bigger wheel is the future as we get older....... ;-)

A guy we used to ride with a few years back rode a 22inch Mcneil.  it was long, but he is super tall and it suited him perfectly.
