Seat Post ID - Very distinctive (with pic)
« on: March 06, 2012, 07:40 PM »
Hi all - I got this "unknown" seatpost off ebay just because I love the brace (normally dont like braces as I think they look ugly).  Anyway, Im about to cut about 3cm off at the the seat end as the seat is WAAAAAY too far back.  This will leave 4cm after the brace.

So, before I cut it, does anyone know what the post is?  There are no markings on it..

ta,

Paul

At first glance it looked like a DP post but the Brace was off set in them

Sexy!!  Good find..

What do you mean the brace was offset?  I can see that mine does not look totally like the picture..

I was going to put this on my Aero Reflex rider but looks like its now going on my chrome Firebird Freestyler!!

Im loving this post even more now..

ta,

Paul

If you look at the brace on the DP post the Bend is about a third of the way up not half way as on your post :daumenhoch:  This enabled the brace to be tighter to the post

Bump..  So, no other thoughts about what it might be?  I dont want to cut it before I really know what it is..  (but will eventually just do it!!)  :)

I have already order a DP decal for it..

Well, its now an official DP seatpost and has the decal to prove it  ;)

Im still not sure if I like it as I have a slight aversion to braced seatposts..  I will leave it on for a few weeks to see if I change my mind.

btw, I did not need to cut it down rather, I just bent the seatclamp stop out of the way so the post can go deeper into the clamp (oh-er!)

Paul
