This is a VERY rare "Hard Core" Holmes. Taj rode one for a while.  :daumenhoch:

Chris Moeller loves having a laugh taking the piss with decals.. they only did a couple of batches of holmes with the fugly curved GT / murray style chain stays in 92 as there was a lot of problems with them cracking... they came with the Haro group one hot temper piss take decals or the country boy / molesternio rick your a dick decals... when they change the seat stays back to a  straight double diamond hardtail design late 92 early 93 as they kept the molesternio decals and also brought out the john holmes ruler cartoon decals ( see alex's yellow holmes) to rub it in as a lot of mail order places at the time would not carry the holmes frame, as it was named after a porn star.... why hardcore  well 1. it was hardcore or punk to pick your stickers off and 2. a lot people though those decals looked sh#t so they did about 20 black frames with just the knob shaped holmes decal on the top tube  .... see Tajs one on here

Nice first post BALLY, some good info and that Taj link is great. He had more style than anyone!  :daumenhoch:

The story I heard about the Hardcore Holmes fits in with that, but Ive got a bit more. It was BSD's Grant Smith who came up with it. He was at S&M, stickering up frames and thought it would be good to do a brakemount less Holmes in black with the one Holmes decal on the top tube. Moeller agreed it looked good and said "lets call it the Hardcore Holmes"". They only did a few, that one time. Grant was stoked when he saw Taj riding one, and then years later when I got this frame off Ebay Grant told me the whole story.

Love the fact that Taj rode a Holmes regardless of who he rode for at the time

Could the Haro piss take decals have come about from other teams riders using S&M frames?

Seen an ad they ran saying 'You provide the stickers, we'll provide the frame'.... or something along those lines...  ???

Haro decals....

Pic nicked from an ebay ad, it's not my frame...  :daumenhoch:

2 minutes turkish...

I always thought Taj was riding a Holmes in Madd Matt

But my mates insisted it was a Hoffman.
