bagged a NS bike! what's a good NS front brake? page 2
« on: November 05, 2011, 02:05 PM »
got my eye on a NS frame that's cheap (at the moment) a Felt Pyre
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320785933719'ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649#ht_1502wt_1187
can anyone tell me if they're any good?

I know they make shocking low end shlt, but there are a few gems in their range, but dont know enough about them to comment on this particular frame

looked on their site and the pyre was their top bike... torn between building up a NS bike or trying to find a cheap complete 2nd hand
had a good trawl last night and didn't find much tbh

also watching this but a long way from where I live

I built up a custom bike, in total I spent around 500, I sold it. Then I bought a complete wtp trust, and changed the bars for mutiny glams, new seat and post, and I've just got a rear wheel and tyre for it. I like it so much more than the custom I did. I'd go for a decent complete. and just change bits :daumenhoch:

Exactly, that's why you shouldn't do a custom, just get a cheap complete, they'll be cheaper now it's winter

Welcome to the dark side, Griff! You won't regret it!  :daumenhoch:

My own experience, for what it's worth.......

See if you can get hold of a good second hander from someone on RAD; far more trustworthy and much cheaper than the Fleabay.

Put up a Wanted Thread, mate!  :daumenhoch:

Griff, I'm still looking about mate, if I see anything I'll drop you a pm :daumenhoch:
I'm in Northampton so if you see anything this way I'll fetch it for you and drop it to t1 or the boardroom  :daumenhoch:
Just give me the nod

I've been thinking about swapping my new school for an old school, but I reckon I'd regret it...

Well they've been good enough for Cramner  :4_17_5:

To be honest , they are more of a bigger name on the race side of BMX  ::)

Money always runs away with a custom, completes are such good value. if your not desperate bide your time cheap completes often come up on here. (whats the bb on the felt looks like a us?)

Look for a used custom, there's been a couple of bargains on ere the last couple of weeks, Mutiny and Fly

Don't rush into buying, the mirraco doesn't look worth bothering with imo.... unless it's at the start price...  :-\

2 minutes turkish...

ive got a felt chasm that i picked up as a f+f and its a nice ride, and rather light compared to a lot of modern stuff, looks like that pyre frame but only part cromo  8)

not in a massive rush (but then there are a few rad nights coming up  :D) also need to sell some stuff cluttering up the spare room!
most of the stuff I'm seeing pop up here is a bit beyond what I can justify spending (hence trawling the feebay for a bargain) but if anyone sees anything cheap on here by all means give me a shout  :daumenhoch:

do like the look of that mirraco, 20.8 TT not too long for me, full cromo and read some decent reviews. considering the standard of my riding doesn't need to be absolutely top drawer so long as light and strong (needs a front brake though  ;D)

Griff forget about the money and try a few first, I had a WTP and didn't like it tbh. daves £1200 scavenger felt like a RBK. No point in spending £250 on a eBay "bargain" if it feels sh1t. But anything is gonna be better than the comedy Haro

i'm currently riding a felt rattlesnake frame, got it from ebay for £35. well built, light and holding up to some abuse. the lower end models i would stay clear of though.

Here you go and what i paid for mine off greg and i must say they are awsome and i have had some high end new school bikes in the past few years even one close to a grand to build and this is better TRUST me lmao  ;D

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/wethepeople-trust-wtp-custom-bmx-mint-NO-swap-swop-px-trials-jump-dirt-street-/230697164760?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item35b69f5fd8

This is second from the top in the wtp range but its only a couple of parts that differ around £600 new.

Ps dude i actually go to real skateparks and ride this  ;)

 1200? glad I didn't fall off it! at the time I put that largely down to lack of experience with new fangled geometry and that but getting on your custard yellow thing it felt a lot easier straight away.
