39/17 (run this on mine) or 41/18 which is a bit easier

I use 30/13, it feels a bit more spinny then a 44/16 on a 20".  I chose that because you dont need to pedal a cruiser as much because of their larger wheel thus greater rolling speed. It seems to work well for me, but to be fair I don't race cruiser much, more of a 20" kinda guy myself, just cruise for a bit of fun. 8)

I used to run 41-18 but now run 36-16 which is deffo spinnier,
rough guide is divide front chainring by back sprocket and multiply by tire size ie, 44 div 16 x 20 = 55 that is how far your wheel travels with every pedal revolution. so if you like 44/16 on your 20" find a combination that gives 55 inches or very close
Hope this helps

i have tried 39 17, 40 18 and have settled on 41 18 seems to work fine not too spinny as my legs dont spin. just try a few different ratio s out and find what suits you best.

Being of a slim build and not having treetrunk legs i use 40-18 on most
tracks but will go to 39-18 on shorter ones like MK.
