'Shed find' '83 GT Pro PIC UPDATE
« on: September 18, 2011, 01:28 PM »
I'll wait 'til everyone's bored of Dale's build!!   ;D   So here's a little frontal shot...........

Few more pics.....Got some well used bubble font A'mes still to fit, need to find a Tuf Neck clamp (someone must have one thats too battered for their show builds??) and think a skinny front would look better. Then I'm done!!!  Enjoyed finding well used parts and making new look old.  Flatted back the polished stem yesterday with wet & dry and a drop of oil to try get the look of the original finish back, turned out ok. Cheers everyone I've hassled on here for cheap parts!!!  :daumenhoch:

Used my 'distressing' skills  ???  to make Greg look like he'd been stuck there for nearly 30 years.  :daumenhoch:

Thanks peeps!!  :daumenhoch:   Started with the frame, forks, headset & crankset off the Bay for 150 quid  ;)  at the beginning of the year........ Scared to death of scratchin' my black 'standard' GT so decided 'survivor' look was the way to go with this one. No nerves at all this time slapping on the decals then flatting back and gently filing in places!! Down tube and seat tube are original.  Looks like the one on the bars is too low tho'  :crazy2:  gonna have to change that. Seat side decals were applied, flatted back, black permanent marker over the top then flatted back again. Looks like original faded print now.   Thanks Ben (Kaner), Del and Glen etc.  :daumenhoch:
