RALIEGH Aero Pro

OK, just thought i'd put these pics up for you Raleigh guys, basically a guy locally found me and wanted some advice on restoring his old bike. My advice was to leave it original as the rust looked worse than it really was and even though the bike came in bits and the parts were caked in 20+ old black muck, dirt, dryed up grease etc i could see the potential in the bike and said i would restore it for him. It came with all original parts except the bars, stem, grips, however he found the bars and grips he took off when he got the bike. The stem was still missing but had a tuff neck which stays on the bike. The only thing that could not be saved was the tyres which were totally rotten and the back cable which again was rusted and rotten beyond repair. The tyres have been replaced with re-issues and a new rear cable fitted. The Frame and fork dropouts are totally mint with no marks and chrome and decals are all original. The bike has taken a few months to complete and most of the parts have came up brilliant, nothing has been blinged on it, just cleaned up nicely. Anyway, he's a few pics.............Oh yeah, the bike will stay with it's original owner and be ridden on the odd occasion, so Darren, if your reading this, look after it :knuppel2:

There were only ever 2 Burner's I wanted BiTD, the CroMo (Tange) Burner and this puppy - my god, that is a stunning bike, made even better by the Tuff Neck for some strange reason......

Both were made by Tange and spec'd with awesome parts of which absolutely none came from Nottingham, but look at what this would cost to build today, even if you didn't want the f&f.

Simply stunning Jay, top work bud and 99% original to the bike :daumenhoch:
Still limping......

Behave ya' self.... the DECALS were printed in Hucknall  :D :D :D :D :D

Great bit of TLC Jay... expect nothing less though really.  :daumenhoch:
