Why dont my bloody tuffs fit?!
« on: June 21, 2011, 07:04 PM »

Ok, I know why my new Tuffs wont fit my '83 Supergoose f 'n' f.  The bastid axle is too large in diameter and fookin long to boot.   >:(

But what can I do about it?  Just replace the axles?  Is this a common fix?  :-\

Obviously I wont be doing myself, I broke a sweat just fitting the headset today.    :uglystupid2:

Looked in resto stickies and couldnt see this topic covered.

is it just the front wheel? if so just file a couple of flats on the axle where it goes into the drop outs dont file the forks
remember axles are cheap and plentiful goose forks arent :daumenhoch:

Can't see why they would be too big in diameter  - did skyway do and 14mm sets ?

the length is a prob on the new ones  ::)

i can sell you a kit which is shorter and won't stick out - (you need just to check the lengh to rear drop out space)

also have the 10mm/8mm flat side axle kits as well  ;)

Great work.

Responded in the appropriate thread.

I guess I could try filing them but Im trying to put off the introduction of hammers, sawing or filing equipment for as long possible.   :uglystupid2:
