so do they have a colour ? or just bear metal ? you can brush them up with different things to get a different finish and the cover then with a lacquer

Polish em with autosol or brasso...  :daumenhoch:

Don't overdo it though, they weren't that shiny when new

what sort of finish are you looking for - a lacquer will seal it, but i don't know what type is the best for this !

i just want them to not look dull and used, more out of the box with a bit of a sheen.autosol is no good,it turns them black and takes of the top surface leaving them pitted

just give them a rub with that green washing up cloth - you know the sort you get on the other side of a sponge for doing the dishes
It will give a cleaner look and not put too much of a shine on it - it might ware out you fingertips  ;D

autosol will turn things black but you can wash off with hot soapy water
peek will do the same job but put more of a shine on it the harder you work it
wirewool will shine it up and clean it up - depend on grade and how hard you work it
wire brash will put lines on it and polish up in places
green scourer, spongehalf/green will clean it up and put a light shine depending on how hard you work it

cheers B  ;)

There was a thread on one of the US sites that did a step by step re-finish of a pair of DX pedals to make them uber bling, there was a link on here but as the search function is not working I can't find it.  I think it was on Vintage but I'm not a member there so can't find it there either!

Found it...
