I reckon its just a case of what was to hand , i mean if they had no straights then the odd box of curved ones might have been used and vica verca

like the stickers maybe, no exact science

i think it's more like they had so much trouble with the crush they changed back, the straight bridge was the cheaper option but they crush. though we don't seem to have many 85/6 to prove the point $:-\$

No not all, just the first run till tru-temper took over as tube manufacturer. Which is where, i think, the k serial models fit in.

Are you sure the 5/83 isn't 0001923 instead of 0000923

the 6870, is probably 10/83 and the 12000 XL is prob 05-84

good thread this one. when i got my TA and saw it had K serial number i thought it was a copy or something. i asked skyway aswell what it meant and bart said the experts at vbmx might know

anyway here's mine K 002406 with curved brake bridge.

Looks like Jan/Feb 84 they changed the rear brake bracket.

Hi All,

I have just got a TA off Ebay last week.

I was a bit suspicious as although the SKYWAY USA 3-83 stamp seemed genuine enough, there were only 7 and not 8 digits in the serial number, and the last three, 0000801-, seemed slightly larger than the first four zeros (A RESTAMP ??

)

It does have a curved brake bridge.

Should it have 8 digits in the serial number ?

I am trying to get a decent pic to post, but any thoughts from you guys would either put my mind at rest or make me go and check that it isn't a Burner

If mine says 03-83 0000801 does that mean I have got an early USA made frame?

Seeing pics of others $:-\$ it seems genuine enough. My numbers have been stamped with "Good 'Ol 80's Star Wars" technology by comparison

. The chrome and decals appear to be original too.

Forks are ASCO:tickedoff:Are these any good as a brand??

Can I be on the list too please
