Hi, I am interested in building (although I'm not too hands on) an old school type BMX. I had a BMX when I was youner in the 80's and just want to try and build something like I remember I had back them.

I have a picture in my head of what I want and the main things I want it to have are....

Chrome frame
CW handle bars
Mushroom grips
Mags
Layback seat

I'm not too worried what makes, but I do have quite a small budget.

Has anyone got any suggestions where I can start??

What would class as the "cheaper" makes of bmx. Raleigh, Peugeot, Falcon?

Like I say I'm on a tight budget, so don't want to waste my time looking at Haro's Diamond backs etc etc Not unless I really get back into it!!!!

hi,first job bud is wait till 1st april and get a site supporters tag cost you a tenner so you can buy and sell ,be patient loads of bargains and great advice ,dont rush it

ps ,i dont think you view for sale section until you get tag

and you will save a fortune on fees not like fleabay

Welcome to the forum Salty as Rick said wait until the 1st April get a site tag

cant wait for mine!!
Let's be honest you will start out cheap but you will get the bug and have a house full of bikes this time next year spending all your money and hours on RAD lol

On a serious note dont get a Burner! I have managed to find some really nice bikes and paid next to nowt just takes a bit of time and effort.
