Trying to relive my youth.....
« on: March 21, 2011, 10:06 PM »
Hi, I am interested in building (although I'm not too hands on) an old school type BMX. I had a BMX when I was youner in the 80's and just want to try and build something like I remember I had back them.

I have a picture in my head of what I want and the main things I want it to have are....

Chrome frame
CW handle bars
Mushroom grips
Mags
Layback seat

I'm not too worried what makes, but I do have quite a small budget.

Has anyone got any suggestions where I can start??

Cheers

Salty

What would class as the "cheaper" makes of bmx. Raleigh, Peugeot, Falcon????

Like I say I'm on a tight budget, so don't want to waste my time looking at Haro's Diamond backs etc etc Not unless I really get back into it!!!!

Welcome to the forum Salty as Rick said wait until the 1st April get a site tag :) cant wait for mine!!
Let's be honest you will start out cheap but you will get the bug and have a house full of bikes this time next year spending all your money and hours on RAD lol

On a serious note dont get a Burner! I have managed to find some really nice bikes and paid next to nowt just takes a bit of time and effort.

Good luck on your quest  :daumenhoch:
